Jackie’s Landing
Durham Bulls Athletic Park, NC
August 2017

This might be my favorite picture of the entire year. It’s got everything I’m after – a great moment in the sky, depth, color and a cross-section of humanity, enjoying the evening and seemingly oblivious (normalized) to the symbolism.

Jackie’s Landing honors Jackie Robinson, the first black player in the majors. #42 did not play for the Bulls during his career, but is remembered in ballparks across the country, including this one in Durham, North Carolina.
