In preparation for teaching my course at Duke, it’s always good to look at some of the bold-faced names in night photography. Here are a few photographers I’ve highlighted in the past:
- Brassai – Photographer who started it all in the 1930’s with his book Paris at Night.
- Troy Paiva – He lights up old cars in junkyards, but his work has lit up a generation of night photographers.
- Michael Kenna – British photographer working in black & white. Sets the standard for contemporary gallery work.
Jason Hawkes
